9:30 PM - 10:45 PMJewish History Museum, 564 S Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701, USA

Temple Emanu-El returns to bring the joy of the Jewish Sabbath to the Temple’s first home Friday, May 19th.  Rabbi Batsheva Appel, the Armon Bizman Band, and soloist Lindsey O’Shea Segovia share a fresh, original expression of Shabbat at Temple Emanu-El’s original home, now the Jewish History Museum and Holocaust History Center.

Armon Bizman,” A Palace in Time, is a complete service commissioned by the Temple from Sam Golden and Robert Lopez-Hanshaw. It is a unique and beautiful new approach to Shabbat music and prayer, influenced by klezmer and North African Mizrachi sounds, and is particularly suited to the warm ambience of the Jewish History Museum. All are welcome to attend the service, and there is no charge. A Shabbat oneg—light refreshments—will be served afterwards.

The Jewish History Museum was originally Temple Emanu-El’s first building in Tucson, constructed in 1911. It is located at 564 S Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701.
